Shirley A. White

Shirley A. White, 82 of Watseka, Illinois, passed away surrounded by family on Friday, March 30. 2018 at 1:50am at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, Illinois.

 

A private family graveside service will be held at a later date at Oak Hill Cemetery, Watseka with Pastor Don Love officiating. Cremation rites will be accorded.

 

The family suggests memorials to be made to Calvary Lutheran Church, Watseka.

 

Beck Memorial Home, Bloomington, Illinois is in charge of arrangements.

 

Shirley was born on November 19, 1935 in St. Charles. She is the daughter of Harry and Dorothy (Wolfe) Behrens.

 

Shirley is survived by her daughters, Cindy (Dan) Henry Kohlenberg of Bloomington and Debbie Henry Gooden of Orlando, Florida; grandchildren, Emma, Maiya, Michael (Sandra) and Adam (Sara) Kohlenberg, Brook and Blake Henry, Jason, Michael, Ashley and Nick Gooden; six great grandchildren;  her beloved sister, Mini (Linard) Kessinger of Watseka; and her brother, Gerald (Ruth) Behrens of Watseka.

 

Preceding her in death were her parents; two sisters, Eve Malizia and Darlene McGunigal; 2 brothers, Marvin “Sparky” Behrens and Donald Behrens; and her son, Michael Henry.

 

Shirley was a graduate of Watseka High School. She worked as a LPN for Watseka Health Care and Magnolia Wood Health Care Center. She was a humble servant of God and was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Watseka.

 

She was a lifelong learner and enjoyed reading and visiting with family and friends. She took pleasure in outdoor yard work and tending to her home. A caretaker at heart, she was always there to help others whenever she was needed.
